Sunflower oil import from Azerbaijan's main supply market drops

In the first two months of this year, Azerbaijan imported 8,030 tons (-28.6%) of sunflower oil worth $ 11.12 million (-16.4%), Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

In the reporting period, the country imported 7,812 tons (-30,2%) worth $ 10.76 million (-19%) from Russia, 133.78 tons (+3 times) worth $252.31 million (+3.5 times) from Turkiye, 77.15 tons (+32 times) worth $139,840 (+30 times) from Ukraine, 5.86 tons (+40%) worth $14,100 (+63.6%) from Italy, 1.3 tons (+3.1 times) worth $2,810 (+3.7 times) from Belarus, and 0.03 tons (-98%) worth $90 (-97.4%) from Germany.

Azerbaijan sold 713 tons (-29%) of sunflower oil worth $ 1.27 million (-1.5%) during the reporting period.

The country exported 416.9 tons (-33%) worth $750,740 (-4.7%) to Iraq, 194.2 tons (-39.4%) worth $354,560 (-21%) to Georgia, and 100.46 tons worth $167,250 to Turkmenistan.

Russia is Azerbaijan's main supplier of sunflower oil, accounting for 98.2% of sunflower oil imports into the country in 2021, for 98.3% in 2020, for 97.7% in 2019, for 93.6% in 2018, for 98.7% - in 2017.
