SMBDA: Ample opportunities in Azerbaijan to create SME clusters in construction sector

There are ample opportunities in Azerbaijan to create new clusters of SMEs in the construction sector, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Economy Ministry, said at the International Business Forum in Baku, Report informs.

Mammadov noted that a significant number of SMEs operate in the construction sector in Azerbaijan, there are ample opportunities for creating joint ventures in the construction and manufacturing industries.

He expressed SMBDA's readiness to provide support to local and foreign businessmen who wish to build business in Azerbaijan’s construction sector and expand their activities in this area.

The business forum was organized with the support of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Swiss company Scandinavian & UK Machines. It was attended by representatives of the construction business and officials from different countries.
