"US has been supporting Azerbaijan’s independence and economic growth for 27 years. During these years, US financial support to Azerbaijan amounted to $1.3 billion. I hope that we’ll get concrete results in logistics, transport and energy fields," U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger said at the fourth meeting of the U.S.-Azerbaijan Economic Partnership Commission.
According to him, Azerbaijan achieved great economic successes: "US hopes Azerbaijan wil conduct reforms in legal and judicial system. We’d like progress to be achieved in protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)."
The ambassador also noted Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway’s implementation as one of the successes of the country.
"Oil and gas projects are implemented successfully. US continues to support Azerbaijan’s energy projects, especially the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC). I hope our cooperation will extend and be successful within this commission," the ambassador added.
