Indian companies want to increase tea exports to Azerbaijan

Indian tea companies want to increase sales in the Azerbaijani market, Report informs from a business forum dedicated to cooperation in the tea trade, organized by the Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan and the Tea Council of India.

The event was attended by Ambassador Bawitlung Vanlalvawna, as well as representatives of companies from both countries. About 30 Indian companies joined the event online. It was noted that Indian companies want to increase tea exports to Azerbaijan.

At present, 4.6% of tea imported to Azerbaijan comes from India.

The trade turnover between India and Azerbaijan in 2021 amounted to about $739 million. In particular, the monetary value of Azerbaijan's exports to India reached $594 million, while the monetary value of Azerbaijan's imports from India amounted to $144.7 million.

At present, more than 600 Indian companies operate in Azerbaijan.
