Head of EBRD in Azerbaijan: Women entrepreneurs play very important role in driving economic growth

Baku. 6 March. REPORT.AZ/ The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is organising a networking event under the framework of the Women in Business programme in the Eastern Partnership, to be held on 6 March 2018, at the Park Inn Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan.

Report informs referring to the Bank.

The networking event is expected to gather women entrepreneurs representing various sectors of the economy and will focus on the importance of digital marketing to help businesses grow, providing an opportunity to present the EBRD dedicated programme to women-led businesses in Azerbaijan. In particular, the event will serve as an opportunity to present the upcoming “Going Digital” Women in Business workshop, to be held in April/May 2018.

The “Going Digital” workshop aims at enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of women entrepreneurs by addressing the specific challenges women-led SMEs face at the enterprise level, including lack of exposure to modern marketing techniques or e-commerce. It gives an in-depth insight into what marketing is and how it works in practice, how to take that knowledge online, as well as how to apply theory to your own digital sphere, through websites and in social networks and e-mail.

“We believe that women entrepreneurs play a very important role in driving economic growth and creating equal opportunities for women in business. Supporting women through a tailored programme provides women entrepreneurs with the know-how they need to turn their ventures into durable businesses. The networking event and the “Going Digital” workshop will help participants to develop their business networks and entrepreneurial skills", commented Ivana Duarte, Head of EBRD in Azerbaijan.

The networking event as well as the upcoming “Going Digital” workshop are part of the EBRD’s Women in Business programme, funded by the European Union under the EU4Business Initiative, Sweden and the Early Transition Countries Fund.
