Georgia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan up by 16%

From January through August 2021, Georgia conducted trade transactions with Azerbaijan worth $689.5 million, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat).

According to GeoStat, this figure is 16% higher than in the same period last year.

Over the past year, the monetary value of Georgia's exports to Azerbaijan increased by 22.1% to $347 million, while the value of imports from Azerbaijan increased by 4.2% to $342.4 million.

In the first eight months of 2021, Azerbaijan ranked fourth among Georgia's main trading partners with a 7.9% share in trade turnover, after Turkey, Russia and China. Azerbaijan's share in Georgia's exports was 13.3%, making it the third-largest export partner after China and Russia. Azerbaijan's share in Georgia's imports was 5.6%, making it the fifth-largest import partner after Turkey, Russia, China, and the United States.
