Georgia boosts aluminum purchases from Azerbaijan

In January-August 2024, Georgia imported aluminum and aluminum products worth $883,600 from Azerbaijan, three times more year-on-year, Report informs, citing the National Statistical Office of Georgia.
In August alone, Georgia bought aluminum and aluminum products worth $141,200 from Azerbaijan, which indicates a 6-time increase year-on-year.
During the first eight months of this year, Georgia bought aluminum and aluminum products worth $96 million from various countries, which is 8% more than a year ago. In particular, Georgia imported these products from Türkiye ($59 million), China ($8.3 million), Russia ($8 million), Italy ($4.8 million), and Ukraine ($2.25 million).
In 2023, Georgia bought aluminum and aluminum products worth $139 million, and $739,000 of it fell to Azerbaijan's share.
