The European Union supports the development of pomegranate growing in Azerbaijan, a representative of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan Viktor Bojkov said at the opening of a mini-plant for the production of pomegranate juice in the Mughanli village of Kurdamir.
He said the project covered 1,500 people from 100 villages that are dealing directly with pomegranate growing.
Training were held as part of the project for them to learn more about pomegranate growing, he said, adding that the priority of the project is also the high quality and compliance with necessary standards in the production of pomegranate juice.
Pomegranate growing is an excellent opportunity to attract tourists which will promote the development of the entire region, Bojkov believes.
