The Single Window principle creates conditions for more efficient and transparent organization of trade processes along the Middle Corridor, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Shahin Baghirov stated, Report informs.
He revealed this at the 10th meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Baku.
"One of the important projects is the 'Simplified Customs Corridor.' This initiative has strategic importance for expanding trade in the region and strengthening economic ties. The expansion of the corridor creates conditions for faster transportation of goods and vehicles. The 'Single Window' principle that we apply enables goods and vehicles to move along one corridor based on one declaration, exchange information electronically, and use pre-submitted declarations as transit baskets. This will serve important goals such as increasing logistics potential in the region," he noted.
Baghirov further noted that the targets for OTS member countries include creating a unified customs information system, forming common risk management mechanisms, and implementing innovative technologies in e-commerce: "We hope that the proposed initiatives will create a foundation for expanding trade turnover between member states and deepening customs cooperation, as well as implementing new projects."
