    CIS Global Business Forum to be held in Dubai next month

    Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted diplomatic corps from CIS countries to apprise them with Chamber’s readiness

REPORT.AZ/ As part of its preparations for organising the first Commonwealth of Independent States Global Business Forum (CIS GBF 2016) being held in Dubai next month, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted diplomatic corps from CIS countries to apprise them with the Chamber’s readiness of this major upcoming event. Report informs citing foreign media.

    H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, received ambassadors and heads of mission from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan and discussed the Chamber’s ongoing preparations for next month’s Commonwealth of Independent States Global Business Forum which will be attended by heads of states and governments, ministers and dignitaries, as well as leading global CEOs, heads of private banks, sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms, and a multitude of global business leaders.

    The President and CEO of Dubai Chamber informed the diplomats about the two-day event which he said is being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and will lead to serious discussions on identifying potential investment areas and key strategic directives related to the CIS’s economic outlook as well as the region’s changing economic synergies which Dubai businesses can explore with their visiting counterparts.

    “Alongside thought-provoking discussions, one-on-one meetings and networking opportunities, the forum opens up a gate of opportunities for Dubai and CIS businesses to explore mutual investment sectors and joint ventures in their particular areas of expertise and competitiveness,” he said.

    On their part, the diplomats assured the Dubai Chamber top official of their full support and cooperation to the event which they said they were vigorously promoting through their respective governments and amongst their communities in the UAE and back home in their countries as well as through their contacts in the surrounding regions.

    The two-day event entitled Commonwealth of Independent States: Ancient Routes - New Opportunities will be held at Atlantis The Palm Hotel on February 17 and 18, 2016, and is organised as part of the Global Business Forum series organised by the Chamber since 2012 including the three sessions of the Africa Global Business Forum whose latest session was held last November.
