The Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Business (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy has received over 800 applications from entrepreneurs wishing to establish businesses in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Rufat Atakishiyev, deputy chairman of the agency's board, told Report.
According to him, about 30% of applications came from foreign investors. Applications are related to the implementation of investment projects, the performance of works, and services, that is, mainly projects on a contract basis. These appeals covered 236 projects from 30 countries, in particular from Turkey, Russia, Israel, and Kazakhstan.
"Businessmen, who submitted applications, have certain expectations, including support in the allocation of land or facilities, paperwork and organizational support for starting operations, monitoring on-site and planning trips for assessing the territory, applying incentives, supporting the creation of special zones, participating in state tenders, support in establishing cooperation and coordination of other services," he said.
