Baku. 27 December. REPORT.AZ/ The economies of Azerbaijan and Belarus are not competitors, but complement each other, which benefits both parties, Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Gennady Akhramovich said at a press conference.
"The main exports of Belarus to Azerbaijan are engineering products, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, the military-industrial complex. In turn, we imported petrochemical products, cotton fiber, vegetables, fruits and other products of the non-oil economy from Azerbaijan”, Akhramovich said.
Touching upon the topic of cooperation in the field of heavy engineering, the ambassador recalled that in April of this year the Ganja Automobile Plant launched its 10,000th tractor. “The plant’s products are already being supplied to the third countries,” the diplomat stressed.
He also added that the Azerbaijani and Belarusian sides have launched a project to create a GAZ assembly workshop in Turkey.
According to the ambassador, in the future, Belarus intends to build a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Azerbaijan, including for the treatment of patients with cancer.
