Azerbaijani jewelry may be exported to CIS countries

"One of our goals is to place ready-made jewelry in Azerbaijan's export basket," said the chairman of the Azerbaijan Jewelers Association Togrul Abbasguliyev.

According to him, currently, ready-made jewelry is not exported: "But raw gold and silver are in the export basket. There are gaps in this area."

Abbasguliyev noted that they have activities in two directions within the export support measures:

"Cooperation with the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) is envisaged in the first direction. We have already held our initial meetings and discussions. Currently, there are certain difficulties due to the quarantine measures applied in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, both in the world and in Azerbaijan.

"In the future, we will cooperate with AZPROMO to represent Azerbaijani brands at foreign exhibitions and fairs. We expect great cooperation potential from the CIS countries. There is a significant demand for Azerbaijani industrial products in the CIS countries. We have actively cooperated in this area. We already have an agreement with the Industrial and Production Association of Uzbekistan. We recently had an online meeting with Uzbek officials. We will have meetings in the future. I believe that Azerbaijan has export potential to Uzbekistan and other countries."
