Azerbaijan-Switzerland business forum held in Baku

Azerbaijan-Swiss business forum was held today in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Economy and the joint organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA), Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Report informs.

In addition to officials from both countries, businessmen from the industrial, agricultural, ICT, banking, healthcare, construction, logistics, transport, financial, and food sectors participated in the event.

Speaking at the forum, First Deputy Minister of Economy, Elnur Aliyev, noted the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland and provided information on economic and trade relations. He stressed that the business forum would contribute to expanding economic partnerships and creating new opportunities.

Erwin Bollinger, co-chairman of the Joint Commission on trade and economic cooperation between the government of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Federal Council, representative of the Federal Council on Trade Agreements of the Swiss Confederation, head of the Department of Bilateral Economic Relations of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, expressed the interest of the businessmen of his country in the economy of Azerbaijan and shared his thoughts about the directions of expanding cooperation.

The Chairman of the SMBDA Management Board, Orkhan Mammadov, spoke about the support measures that the Agency could provide to foreign businessmen who want to establish a business in Azerbaijan, find local partners, and implement joint projects with SMEs.

Yusif Abdullayev, head of AZPROMO, noted the importance of relations between Azerbaijani and Swiss business circles and informed about the measures implemented to promote the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand.

Chairman of the Management Board of Alat Free Economic Zone, Valeh Alasgarov, Deputy Executive Director of AZPROMO, Zohrab Gadirov, the President of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) Claude Haegi, Managing Director of the Swiss United Chamber of Commerce (JCC) Dorit Sallis, head of JCC's Azerbaijan branch Leyla Bagyrzadeh and chief executive officer of ISR Holding, co-chairman of SACCI's operations committee Rauf Khalilov made presentations on cooperation between businessmen of both countries.

Within the forum, bilateral meetings were held between businessmen, and discussions were held on expanding partnerships and establishing new relations.
