Azerbaijan starts importing hybrid cars from one more country

Azerbaijan imported 933 hybrid cars worth $21.1 million in January 2023, respectively, down 18% and up 2.1 times from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The countries that exported hybrid cars to Azerbaijan in the reporting period:

- Germany – 131 cars (+19 times) worth $8.2 million (+37 times);

- Japan – 525 cars (-49%) worth $4.7 million (-38%);

- US – 99 cars (+33.8%) worth $2.9 million (+39.2);

- China – 78 cars (no imports a year ago) worth $2 million;

- Korea – 64 cars (+7 times) worth $1.8 million (+20 times).

For the first time in the past 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011), Azerbaijan imported two hybrid cars worth $81,600 from Belgium.

Some 78.4% of the 11,337 hybrid cars brought to Azerbaijan from 15 countries last year were purchased from Japan.
