Azerbaijan sharply increases import of electric vehicles from four countries

In January-July 2023, Azerbaijan imported 1,492 (8 times more year-on-year) electric vehicles for $61.4 million (11 times more YoY), Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,208 units (+19 times) of electric vehicles from China for $43.45 million (+19 times), 151 units (+12 times) from Germany for $13.6 million (+13 times), 78 units (+2.9 times) from the US for $2.4 million (+2.9 times), 20 units (+5 times) from Korea Republic for $827,410 (+5.8 times), and 5 units (-44%) from Belgium for $335,000 (-39%).

Some 59% of the $17.67 million worth of electric vehicles brought to Azerbaijan from 14 countries last year were purchased from China, 18.2% from Germany, 9.8% from the US, and 6.7% from Belgium.
