Azerbaijan posts remarkable growth in aluminum exports to Iran

Azerbaijan exported 12,585 tons of unprocessed aluminum, valued at $29.65 million in the initial five months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

According to the obtained data, the exports fell by 32 percent in volume and dropped by 34 percent in value from the corresponding period in 2023

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 7,645 tons (-46%) of unprocessed aluminum to Türkiye for $18.1 million (-47%), 3,331 tons (+22%) to Japan for $7.2 million (+25%), 1,034 tons (-11%) to Uzbekistan for $2.8 million (-19%), 525 tons (+11 times) to Iran for $1.3 million (+15 times), and 48.7 tons to Spain for $136,300 (no supply a year ago).

Meanwhile, in 2023, Azerbaijan exported a total of 35,000 tons of aluminum to seven countries, of which, 66.7 percent fell to Türkiye.
