Azerbaijan’s tea exports to Germany soar

In January-Aprel 2024, Azerbaijan imported 3,497 tons of black tea worth $17.2 million, down 21% and 27%, respectively, year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 2,203 tons of black tea (-37%) from Sri-lanka for $11.4 million (-40%), 626 tons (+74%) from Russia for $3.5 million (+64%), 469 tons (+53%) from India for $1.5 million (+41%), 128 tons (+6.7%) from Kenya for $397,000 (-36%), and 30.76 tons (+7%) from Iran for $185,000 (+12%).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 194.2 tons (-8%) of black tea worth $1.9 million (-5%).
Azerbaijan exported 84 tons of black tea (-12%) to Georgia for $811,000 (-7%), 61 tons (-6%) to Ukraine for $554,000 (+1.3%), 15.24 tons (-2.6 times) to Saudi Arabia for $157,000 (+2.2 times), 5.6 tons (+4 times) to Germany for $61,000 (+5 times), and 3.39 tons (+44%) to undetermined country (purchased from Duty-Free Trade Store) for $57,000 (+46%).
Georgia accounted for 52.2% of the 663 tons of black tea exported by Azerbaijan to 25 countries.
