Azerbaijan’s cocoa powder imports from Spain skyrocket

Azerbaijan imported 557 tons of cocoa powder worth $2.45 million during the initial five months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
The data shows that there is a 2.1-fold growth in volume and a 2.2-fold increase in value when compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 322 tons (+2.1%) of cocoa powder from Türkiye worth $1.6 million (+2.3 times), 106 tons (+5 times) from the Netherlands worth $455,000 (+5 times), 42 tons from Ukraine worth $94,000 (no supply a year ago), 23.4 tons (-47%) from Ivory Coast worth $90,100 (-46%), 25 tons (+2,500 times) from Spain worth $83,400 (+8,300 times).
Meanwhile, in 2023, Azerbaijan imported a total of 750 tons of cocoa from 20 countries, of which 51 percent fell to Türkiye and 13.3 percent to the Netherlands.
