Azerbaijan’s cargo transportation by air nosedives in volume

Cargo transportation in Azerbaijan by air dropped by 5.4 times in volume and 8.3 percent in value during the first two months of this year, compared to the corresponding period of 2023, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
In January–February of 2024, a total of 2,169 tons of cargo (including exports and imports) worth $295,436,000 were transported by air in Azerbaijan.
During the reporting period, 243 tons of goods, valued at $17,527,000 were exported from the country by air transport, which is a decrease of 42.2 times in volume and 2.7 times in value compared to the indicator of last year.
At the same time, 1,926 tons of cargo worth $277,909,000 were imported into the country by air in January-February of this year, representing a 20.5-percent increase in volume and a 2.4-percent increase in value from the same period of the previous year.
