​Azerbaijan reduces import of cars by 2 times

Baku. 15 August. REPORT.AZ/ During January-July of this year, Azerbaijan imported to 18,862 or 1,97 times fewer cars over the same period last year. Report informs citing the report of the State Customs Committee, although 38,338 vehicles were imported in Azerbaijan during 7 months in the last year, figure fell down to 19,476 in 2015.

According to the information, among the cars imported into the country 660 or 3.39% are motor vehicles for the transport of 10 persons or more, including the driver, 17,345 or 89.06% cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons, 1,275, or 6.55% - motor vehicles for the transport of goods, 196 or 1.01% - motor vehicles for special purposes.

Comparing with the same period last year, the number of motor vehicles for the transport of 10 persons or more, including the driver, has grown by 3.3 times or 462 passenger cars and other motor vehicles for the transport of persons decreased by 2 times or 17,273 motor vehicles for the transport of goods - by 2.6 times or by 1,988, motor vehicles for special purposes - 63 or 24.32%.
