Azerbaijan is developing a new support program for citizens who have received professional certifications from leading international organizations. At the same time, the country is preparing special mechanisms to attract major international data center providers, Fariz Jafarov, executive director of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM), said at the Technovation forum in Baku, Report informs.
He stated that the new program provides financial support for citizens who have received international certifications in areas considered a priority by the state.
"The government, with the support of the private sector, plans to finance the acquisition of such certifications and the results achieved. The list of certifications in areas deemed a priority by the state will be determined in advance," Jafarov noted.
He added that Azerbaijan is working to create special mechanisms to attract hyperscale data centers and international providers of related services.
"Work is currently underway on special mechanisms to attract international data center providers to the country. In this context, the Alat Free Economic Zone is one of the most attractive jurisdictions in the world for locating such companies. Here, they are offered long-term incentives and access to a stable energy supply. At the same time, our goal is not only to utilize the services of these data centers, but also to use the opportunities they create to transform the country into a service hub for Central Asia and neighboring regions," he said.
