Azerbaijan more than triples income from export of tobacco & its substitutes

In January-August this year, Azerbaijan imported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes for $63.2 million, Report informs referring to the State Customs Committee.

This is $700,000 (1.12%) less than in the same period last year.

The cost of tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes exported by Azerbaijan for the eight months of this year amounted to $15 million, which is $9.1 million or 3.4 times more than a year ago.

In the reporting period, import expenditures on tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes amounted to 0.71% of Azerbaijan’s total import expenditures, and export earnings - 0.06% of total export earnings.
