Azerbaijan increases car import 2.5-fold

Baku. 12 October. REPORT.AZ/ In January-September 2018 Azerbaijan imported 16,382 cars, up 9,739 cars or 2.5-fold from the previous year, Report informs citing the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the State Statistical Committee, some 110 or 0.67% of them were cars with a seating capacity of 10 and more seats, 14,680 or 89.61% passenger cars intended for passenger transportation and other motor vehicles, 1,507 or 9.2% were trucks, and 85 or 0.52% are special purpose vehicles.

Compared to the previous year, the number of cars with a seating capacity of 10 and more seats has declined by 28 units or 20.29%, the passenger cars intended for passenger transportation and other motor vehicles by 8,897 units or 2.54-fold, trucks by 837 units or 2.25-fold and special purpose vehicles increased by 33 units or 63.46%.
