Azerbaijan, Egypt mull expansion of economic cooperation

First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev met with Ihab Nasr, assistant to the Egyptian Foreign Minister for European affairs, Report informs, citing the ministry.

According to the information, the deputy minister emphasized the importance of relations with Egypt and congratulated Ihab Nasr on the occasion of the Egyptian Revolution Day. He noted that the two countries cooperate successfully in a number of fields, including within the framework of international organizations, and importance is attached to the expansion of economic and trade relations with Egypt. The official noted that the documents signed at the last meeting of the Joint Commission on Intergovernmental economic, technical and scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt, which is a convenient platform in this field, serve the development of partnership between business circles. According to him, the establishment of direct relations between businesspeople, the organization of business forums, trade missions, and mutual participation in exhibitions are important measures in terms of partnership development.

Talking about investment cooperation, Aliyev invited Egyptian businessmen to participate in the implementation of projects in Azerbaijani territories freed from occupation, along with other economic areas.

Nasr emphasized that his country is interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan, and shared his views on the directions of developing partnership.

The sides also discussed the expansion of bilateral economic-trade and investment cooperation.
