Azerbaijan, Belarus invest $17M in tractor manufacture in Turkey - EXLCUSIVE

The opening ceremony of Azerbaijan-Turkey Production Association (ATUB), Azerbaijan-Belarus tractor producing plant, will be held on July 3, 2019 with the participation of officials of all three countries, Murad Ismayilov, one of plant’s directors, told Report.

He said that annual production capacity will reach 3,000 from 500. According to him, as Turkey’s demand for tractors is 70,000, the plant will firstly meet the domestic need, then export to foreign countries, especially Africa.

‘We’ll compete with agricultural equipment producers in Turkey. However, I’m sure that we’ll take our own place if we take into account that Belarusian tractors are famous brands in the world," Ismayilov said.

The director said $17 million was first invested in the plant, and $5 million has already been spent: "The share of Ganja Automobile Plant in the plant is financed by Azerbaijani and Turkish investors. $17 million will be spent on increase of annual production to 5,000-7,000 tractors. 70% of parts will be brought from Belarus to Ganja and improved there. The remaining 30% will be produced in Ganja. After 3-4 years, some parts will be produced in Kirikkale."
