Azerbaijan begins macadamia nut imports from UAE

Azerbaijan imported 8.1 tons of macadamia nuts, valued at $74,400 in the first five months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

According to the obtained data, the imports rose by 2.2 times in volume and 2.1 times in value from the same period of the previous year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 7.8 tons (+2.3 times) of macadamia nuts from China worth $68,500 (+2.4 times), 0.05 tons from France worth $2,300 (no supply a year ago), 0.1 tons (-52%) from South Africa worth $1,500 (-68%), 0.1 tons (-15%) from Australia worth $1,200 (-53%), 0.04 tons from the UAE worth $900.

In 2024, Azerbaijan imported macadamia nuts from the UAE for the first time in 13 years (with official foreign trade statistics available since 2011).
