Baku. 5 December. REPORT.AZ/ At the end of this month, Astara (Iran) will host the 12th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on Economy, Trade and Humanitarian Spheres.

Report informs citing the Economy Ministry, the issue was discussed at the meeting of the Co-chairman of the State Commission, Minister Shahin Mustafayev with the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Javad Jahangirzade.

The sides also exchanged views on the work on the North-South transport corridor and financing construction of the Rasht-Astara railway, which is part of the corridor, joint projects and expansion of economic ties. During the meeting, discussions were held on acceleration of the construction of the Azerbaijani-Iranian joint pharmaceutical plant laid in Pirallahi Industrial Park this year, and experts of the Ministry of Health stated that will visit Tabriz (Iran) this month.

Mustafayev proposed to hold the first meeting of the Joint Technical Commission on "Khudaferin" and "Maiden Tower" agreements with the participation of the relevant bodies of the two countries in Khudafarin city (Iran) this month.

Jahangirzade shared his views on the prospects of expanding economic relations, and said that Iranian investors are interested in investing in Azerbaijan's industrial sector as well as suggested creation of the Azerbaijani-Iranian Chamber of Commerce.
