Director of National Art Museum awarded with French order

Director of the National Art Museum Chingiz Farzaliyev has been awarded with the French Order of Art and Literature.

Report informs that the awarding ceremony was held yesterday at the French ambassador's residence.

French ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakarie Gross said that this is not the first award received by Farzaliyev. The ambassador reminded that the exhibition 'French art from collection of the National Art Museum of Azerbaijan' was held in Baku in 2017 as part of the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Art Museum, when the visitors could see the samples of the cultural heritage of France.

The Order of Art and Literature was established in mid last century for the purpose of celebrating the most outstanding phenomena of world culture.

The Order of Art and Literature is bestowed upon the outstanding cultural figures of France and the world. The honorary award has three degrees - Cavaliere, Officer and Commandor. The decision on awarding is made by the French Minister of Culture with the assistance of the special committee.
