"Azerbaijan has made huge investments in the country in recent years, and this gives concrete and interesting results," Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili told Report's Russian bureau.
"In July, we had a very interesting meeting of the executive council, which is one of the most important structures of our organization. Ministers from 35 countries gathered in Baku to address important tourism issues. The event was extremely successful. We enjoy friendly relations with the chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, Fuad Nagiyev, and I hope that we will continue our cooperation in this area”, the Secretary General said.
"During a visit to Baku, I met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. At the meeting, we discussed promising areas of tourism development and the implementation of various tourism projects. I want to note that, Azerbaijan has very good tourism opportunities and president of the country is doing a lot for the development of this industry," Pololikashvili said.
