Tourist flow to Azerbaijan more than doubles  

Azerbaijan received 246,200 tourists in January-March 2022, up 2.1-fold from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Border Service.

Among the tourists, 27.4% came from Russia, 24.7% from Turkiye, 14.4% from Iran, 5.8% from Georgia, 3.4% from Ukraine, 3.1% from each of Saudi Arabia and UAE, 2% from Pakistan, 1.6% from Kuwait, 1.3% from Kazakhstan, 1.21% from each of Great Britain and India, 0.8% from each of Germany and Oman, 0.7% from each of Belarus and US, 0.6% from each of Israel and Uzbekistan, 6.6% from other countries. Men constituted 79.7%, while women 20.3% of the foreigners.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of arrivals from Oman increased by 649 times, from Saudi Arabia by 168.5 times, from Kuwait by 167.1 times, from Bahrain by 50.4 times, from the UAE by 47.7 times, from Pakistan by 29.5 times, from India by 11 times, from Israel by 6.3 times, from the United States by 5.6 times, from Kazakhstan by 3.6 times, from France by 3.5 times, from Ukraine by 3 times, from the United Kingdom by 2.2 times, from Iran by 1.9 times, from Turkiye by 1.9 times, from Russia by 1.7 times, and from Georgia by 14.9%.

In contrast to a year earlier, the number of tourists from the Gulf countries tripled to 58,300 people, from EU member states by 2.5 times to 10,900 people, from CIS countries by 1.8 times to 84,300 people.
