A total of 983,000 people traveled abroad from Azerbaijan from January through August of 2022, which is 1.8 times higher than the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, 48% of the Azerbaijanis who traveled abroad visited Turkiye, 17% visited Russia, 11.4% traveled to Iran, 8.4% to Georgia, and 15.2% opted for other countries. Men accounted for 63.9% and women were responsible for 36.1% of all those who traveled abroad.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of Azerbaijanis who traveled to Iran, Turkiye, Georgia, and Russia increased by 3.4 times, 1.8 times, 1.8 times, and 1.2 times, respectively.
