Revenues from tourism in Azerbaijan to exceed 1.8 bln USD in 2016

Baku. 15 August. REPORT.AZ/ Revenues from tourism in Azerbaijan will reach 1.834 bln USD in 2016.

Report informs referring to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the number of tourists increased by 6.4% in comparison with 2015 and reached 1 million visitors.

The research also showed that approximately 600 to 1,000 visitors from Arab countries travel to Azerbaijan every day, mainly from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Iraq, spending a minimum of 150-200 USD daily.

The total number of tourists coming to the country has increased by 30 times this May compared to the ast year, according to the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

Experts noted, hospitality options became even more attractive for visitors as a result of devaluation in the national currency in 2015.
