PAKAZCHAM: "50,000 Pakistanis tourists expected to visit Azerbaijan this year"

"If we look at the numbers in 2019, around 45,000 Pakistanis visited Azerbaijan for tourism, President of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Economic Cooperation Chamber Khurram Bhatti told Report.

"Currently there are also talks between tourism agencies of two countries. As the e-visa has already been offered to Pakistani tourists and direct flights have started between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, I expect this number to increase to 50,000 tourists in 2022. Many countries worldwide have removed the PCR test requirement, including UAE and Turkey. We hope that Azerbaijan will also consider this and remove this requirement to increase the tourist inflows," the Chairman said.

He invited Azerbaijanis to visit Pakistan and enjoy the great hospitality of the Pakistani nation: "The variety of tourism in Pakistan is large, which includes the world's highest mountains, deserts, modern architecture, natural resources, heritage, religious and cultural tourism. A recent delegation from Azerbaijan to Pakistan enjoyed the level of hospitality in Pakistan and its culture and food. The Pakistani Government has made it very easy for Azerbaijani citizens to obtain tourist or business visas. So, hopefully, with the current focus and the availability of direct flights, tourism between the two brotherly countries will increase."
