The development of the culinary field in Azerbaijan encourages the creation of new business entities in tourism and public catering and accelerates the development of these fields, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy, said at the National Culinary Congress in Baku.
"National cuisine is not only dishes and methods of cooking technology but also one of the main parts of material culture. The history of our national cuisine is as old as the people's history. Our cuisine is always distinguished by its historical roots and uniqueness. Azerbaijani dishes are famous in the world for their high-quality taste. In recent years, many public catering facilities based on Azerbaijani cuisine have started operating both inside the country and abroad. SMBDA has always supported the development of business entities operating in the field of restaurant and cafe business, and works in this direction are continued," he said.
According to Mammadov, establishing close cooperation with civil society institutions is one of the Agency's main activities:
"A number of public organizations are represented in the Public Council under SMBDA. SMEs operating in this sector and their associations are closely involved and represented in the process of preparing new legislative acts in the field of food, creating new incentive mechanisms. The role of Associations in attracting entrepreneurs to this process is undeniable."
