Baku. 10 May. REPORT.AZ/ Majority of people travelling to Baku from domestic provinces and Georgia for the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games prefer railway transportation. That’s why some passenger congestion in railway network was observed since May 1.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Railway CJSC's Public Relations Department Sevinj Gadirova told Report.
“Thus, if in ordinary days about 2000-2500 people use passenger trains, during last days the load increased to 3000-3500 passengers a day. At the same time, passengers of Baku-Tbilisi-Baku express train increased by 10-15% in comparison with ordinary days. In relation with passenger congestion, necessary number of additional carriages have been provided to trains travelling within the country”, the information says.
