EU updates list of countries exempt from strict Covid-19 entry rules

The EU has updated its list this year of non-EU countries from which visitors may come in because Covid is well-controlled, Report says, citing Prime.

The list only includes a small number of countries with low rates of new cases of Covid-19: Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand.

"Travel restrictions should also be phased out for the special administrative regions of China, Hong Kong, and Macau, subject to confirmation of reciprocity," the Council said in a statement.

However, the entry from Uruguay was changed. It is due to the worsening situation with COVID-19 in the country.

As of Thursday, December 17, over the entire period of the pandemic, 22.9 million cases of coronavirus infection were registered in European countries, while more than 506 thousand people died.
