Egypt to get tourism industry back on track in fall

Egypt's tourism industry does not expect foreign visitors to return before the fall, reports RIA Novosti.

The government addressed plans for the resumption of foreign tourism. Ministries of Tourism and Aviation of the country were instructed to develop a scheme for the reception of foreigners. But no possible dates were published. The Egyptian Federation of tourist chambers said that taking into account the current situation with coronavirus in the country (according to official statistics, more than 1,100 deaths and more than 27,000 cases), the restart of foreign tourism is expected in September-October. The organization emphasizes that by this time, a vaccine or treatment regimen should be found in the world. If this happens earlier, the timing "can be adjusted." According to representatives of host companies, neither the authorities nor the hotels want to take risks. "Even if international air traffic resumes in July and August, mass tourism is not in question."
