Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Fuad Naghiyev will visit Japan at the end of this week, said the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau CEO Florian Sengstschmid, Report informs.
"Attracting tourists from Asian markets is currently a priority. Since the beginning of the restoration process, our primary goal has been to attract tourists from countries close to us and from where tourists have flocked to Azerbaijan in previous years. Although these are regional and Middle Eastern countries, we also moved towards Europe in the second half of the year. We had various activities, mainly in Poland, the Czech Republic, and German-speaking countries. We will also have various marketing activities related to Asia. Currently, some countries in Asia are closed due to quarantine, and we expect that important countries like China will come out of quarantine, thus we will start our activities there," Sengstschmid said.
