Bali ready to reopen to tourists this summer

Indonesia expects foreign tourists to return to the islands in July after a long hiatus, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.

According to the country's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, it will open to visitors in July 2021.

"Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced plans to reopen borders in July 2021, with destinations such as Bali, Batam, and Bintan becoming locomotive regions to relaunch tourism across the country. The government has held the vaccination program for target groups, including tourism workers as part of preparations to receive foreign guests," the statement reads.

There was no information on whether travelers would need to vaccinate for their holidays in Indonesia.

According to Deputy Minister of Tourism Marketing Nia Niskaya, the government has also initiated cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability (CHSE) certification program throughout the country's tourism sector.
