Azerbaijani travelers account for 7% of total tourists visited Iran in 2023

7% of the tourists who visited Iran in 2023 were travelers from Azerbaijan, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council, Report informs.

According to the information, Iran's tourism industry saw a 21% increase last year, indicating a strong recovery after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. During the reporting period, the share of the tourism sector in the national economy was 4.7%. 6.6% of the employed population, or approximately 1.6 million people, worked in this sector.
