In the first quarter of 2019, Azerbaijani tourists travelling to Georgia spent GEL 265.1 ($95) on average, down GEL 135.9 ($48) from the previous year, GEL 79.9 ($28) from previous quarter, Report’s Georgia bureau informs citing the Georgian National Tourism Administration.
Azerbaijani citizens were the tourists spending least money in Georgia.
Russian tourists (GEL 1,135/$408) accounted for the biggest share of the money spent. Turkey and Armenia respectively spent GEL 919.9 or $330 and GEL 605.9 or $218.
In the reporting period, the foreigners totally spent GEL 1.2 billion or $432,000. Tourist spent GEL 890 or $320 per visit.
In the reporting period, 292,902 people travelled from Azerbaijan to Georgia, up 3% in comparison to a year earlier.
