Azerbaijan Tourism Board to cooperate with Saudi Arabian airline

On December 20, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) under the State Tourism Agency and the Saudi Arabian Flynas airline for the purpose of expanding cooperation in the field of tourism.

Referring to ATB, Report informs that the document was signed by Florian Sengstschmid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bureau, and Abdulilah Aleidi, Vice President of International Sales at Flynas.

The memorandum enivsages the exchange of mutual experience, the promotion of potential activities for the development of tourism between the two countries, as well as the development of joint projects that will stimulate the flow of tourists.

Sengstschmid noted that it is aimed to attract more Saudi Arabian citizens to Azerbaijan with various tourist experiences, a simplified electronic visa process, and direct flights. He said that the number of Saudi Arabian citizens who visited Azerbaijan in January-November of the current year was 93,611, which means a 17-fold increase compared to the same period last year. Also, this figure represents 91% of the post-pandemic recovery.

Aleidi noted that Flynas is the first airline company to operate flights from Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan since 2018, and the signed memorandum will positively contribute to visits to Azerbaijan.
