Azerbaijan to introduce system for simplified passage for tourists

The creation in Azerbaijan of Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Registration Record (PNR) systems will facilitate the passage of travelers through border checkpoints, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) Javad Gasimov told the Annual Forum of Technical Assistance Beneficiaries in Doha, Qatar, as quoted by Report.

According to him, the commissioning of these systems will make it possible to timely stop the movement of persons and goods that may harm the national interests of a country, as well as bring national legislation in line with the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council, documents of the World Customs Organization, including international standards, obligations, and recommendations of the Chicago Convention.

Gasimov also noted that as a result of joint activities on January 25, 2022, a passenger information center was opened under the State Customs Committee. Currently, the main goal is to launch the goTravel risk management system in a short time.
