Azerbaijan reveals its plans to render quality tourism services for COP29 guests

The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan announced its plans for the organization of quality tourism services for the guests coming to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Report informs.

Azada Huseynova, Deputy Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, talked about this at the press conference held by the agency on the accommodation of foreign guests and presentation of tourism opportunities during COP29.

“The main issue for us is to provide quality tourism services to the guests coming to attend the COP29 event. To this end, the State Tourism Agency is planning to take a number of measures,” she mentioned.

Huseynova noted that in Baku and Sumgayit cities, as well as in Absheron district, the work on conducting professional training for about 2,000 employees of about 300 accommodation facilities has started in order to increase the quality of service.

“Furthermore, 200 tourist guides will be trained by us, relevant certificates will be issued, and about 1,000 tourism volunteers will be assigned to hotels for support purposes,” the official added.

Highlighting that vegan and vegetarian menus are prepared by the agency for hotels and restaurants, the deputy chairman pointed out that it is also planned to conduct training on gastronomy:

"At the same time, we continue measures to improve the cultural monuments located in the parks and reserves in the country, to upgrade the infrastructure, and to prepare tour programs for the mentioned areas."
