Azerbaijan represented at ICOMOS General Assembly board meeting in Australia

Azerbaijan is participating in the board meeting of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) 21st General Assembly and Scientific Symposium in Sydney (Australia), Report informs referring to the State Tourism Agency.

More than 1,500 members of the organization and officials take part in the meeting. Azerbaijan was represented by President of the National Committee Sadagat Davudova and Secretary General Sheyda Allahverdiyeva.

As part of the meeting, a scientific symposium was organized on the topic “Heritage Changes: Resilience – Responsibility – Rights – Relationships.” The event will last until September 9, various lectures and seminars on the conservation and management of cultural heritage will be organized.

ICOMOS is the world’s largest international organization in the field of protection of material and cultural heritage. The Azerbaijan National Committee of ICOMOS was established on the initiative of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan and has been active since 2022.

On October 25-31 last year, at the annual meeting in Thailand, the Azerbaijan National Committee of ICOMOS was elected one of the two co-chairs of the General Assembly of the organization.
