Tbilisi. 4 January. REPORT.AZ/ 1,424,610 Azerbaijani citizens traveled to Georgia in 2018, up 123,054 people or 9.5% from 2017, Report’s local bureau informs referring to Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kobulia.
Thus, Azerbaijan ranked 1st for the number of people travelling to Georgia.
Totally 8,679,544 people visited Georgia last year, up 9.8% in comparison to a year earlier. Of this, 4,756,820 people were tourists, up 16.9% by contrast to 2017.
The second place was held by Russia with 1,404,757 people, third place by Armenia with 1,268,886 people.
Revenues from tourism amounted to $3 billion in January-November, up $485 million or 19.3% compared to a year earlier.
