Azerbaijan, Iran discuss tourism relations

Today, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Fuad Nagiyev received Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyed Abbas Mousavi.

Report informs, referring to the Agency, that the meeting reviewed the current tourism relations and future cooperation between the two countries.

Nagiyev spoke about the liberation of Azerbaijani lands under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the prospects for the development of tourism in Karabakh.

The chairman of the agency also talked about the damage caused to Karabakh's tourism potential due to the Armenian invasion, the policy of deliberate destruction of tourist sites, including historical and religious monuments and Islamic heritage by the occupiers.

In turn, the ambassador noted that Iran had always supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and the establishment of peace in the region is important for the overall development of the area.

The conference also discussed the simplification of visa and border crossing procedures between the two countries, improvement of relevant infrastructure, regular cooperation between representatives of the tourism industry, measures planned to restore tourism in the post-pandemic period, exchange of information and experience, tourism relations of the Caspian countries.
