Last year, a total of 10,400 tourists visited Uzbekistan from Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.
Thus Azerbaijani tourists took 12th place in the ranking table.
In total, 5.2 million tourists from different countries visited Uzbekistan last year. This is 3.4 million people or 2.8 times more than in 2021.
Last year, most tourists who visited Uzbekistan were citizens of Kazakhstan. In 2022, 1.5 million Kazakh tourists visited the country. The top five also include Tajikistan (1,447,800 people), Kyrgyzstan (1,356,900 people), Russia (567,700 people), and Turkiye (75,600 people).
South Korea (19,900 people), Germany (17,700 people), India (16,800 people), the US (13,100 people), and France (11,000 people) completed the top ten of the countries visiting Uzbekistan in 2022.
The UK ranks 11th ahead of Azerbaijan with 10,500 thousand tourists, while Italy is right behind Azerbaijan with 8,800 tourists, with Spain (6,300 tourists) and China (5,400 tourists) taking the remaining positions in the top 15.
