Azerbaijan, Egypt mull development of tourism relations

The chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Naghiyev and the Egyptian ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid discussed development perspectives of tourism relations, implemented strategies, as well as the recent experiences of both countries in this direction, Report informs.

At the meeting, Naghiyev emphasized that the state has paid attention to the Azerbaijani tourism sector in recent times and provided information about the tourism potential of the liberated territories, as well as the reconstruction and restoration work carried out in places of historical and cultural heritage. He pointed out that increasing cooperation within the framework of international organizations will contribute to the development of tourism relations between the two countries.

The ambassador noted that Azerbaijan has rich tourism potential, as well as a variety of tourism products and multicultural values that can be offered to Egyptian tourists, and the importance of raising awareness about Azerbaijan in Egypt. He said that in addition to flights from Baku to Sharm el-Sheikh, the opening of Baku-Cairo-Baku direct flights could increase the number of tourist trips.

The meeting mulled the direction of preparing a joint action plan, exchanging experience in the field of tourism, strengthening partnership relations between tourism industry representatives, and increasing mutual promotion.
